Enjoy West Cork - stay in budget accommodation on Beara

The Hungry Hill Lodge and Camping Site was opened in 1999. We offer lovely ensuite rooms, dormitory beds and also camping facilities. As you can perhaps guess the name of our Lodge was taken from nearby Hungry Hill ( Cnoc Daod in Gaelic!). This bulky, brooding mountain also lent its name to the famous novel by Daphne Du Maurier.

Details of Accommodation

Every effort is made to ensure that all our guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay and plenty of advice is available on what to do whilst visiting the Beara Peninsula.

The accommodation is varied with ensuite rooms available as well as dormitory beds. Our guests have the use of a fully equipped kitchen, and can at any time enjoy our common room that has a wonderful open fireplace for those days when the weather is soft!!

Next to our Lodge is the Glenbrook Bar for those that require a few jars after a hard day's exertions in the hills or on the water. Peg's Mini-Market is only 100 metres away. So, although you are in a tranquil rural location you should want for nothing!

Groups are welcome. For walking groups of eight or more we can provide a complimentary baggage delivery / collection service between Glengarriff / Adrigole & Adrigole / Castletownbere.

Normally we will close during January and February but will be pleased to open for groups of eight or more during that time by prior arrangement. A local Tour Guide can also be arranged for those walkers unfamiliar with this area.

Please also note that should you wish to block book the whole hostel then that too can be arranged. (€395.00 per night)

All our Hostel prices include clean bed linen and unlimited hot showers. Any reasonable requests ….we'll try our best!
